What if you could visibly see the presence of the Spirit of God within you? How would it change what you do each day, to have that visible reminder that God is there right with you? In Exodus 40, Moses set up the tabernacle according to God’s detailed instructions. “Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle (Exodus 40:34, NASB).” What an amazing sight that must have been — to see the cloud covering the tent and knowing the glory of the Lord was inside the tabernacle.
Wherever they went, God was with them. “For throughout all their journeys, the cloud of the LORD was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel (40:38).” Yet Israel became complacent. Throughout their wilderness journey, and even after they settle in the land God promised them, they lose sight of God’s glory and His presence. They become impatient and arrogant, even worshiping idols and other gods:
“But they, our fathers, acted arrogantly; They became stubborn and would not listen to Your commandments. They refused to listen, And did not remember Your wondrous deeds which You had performed among them (Nehemiah 9:16-17).”
God has given us His Spirit to guide us on our life journey. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you (John 14:26).” The challenge for us is to not become complacent, even arrogant, and lose sight of God’s presence. The Spirit of God is evident each day, visible in the things that happen if we look for it.
Wonderful message to help us start out a new year. Help us to never be arrogant to his ever loving and guiding hand.
Yes, may we remain vigilant in the new year. Blessings.

Thanks for the comment. Blessings.
Amen! We can learn from the Israelites as they ignore the presence of God. May we, as believers, continue to embrace the Holy Spirit. He will help each of us to realize God is ever-present.
I love the “right-here-ed-ness” of God!
Amen! Blessings.
