2022 Countdown of the top four Prayer Journey posts. This post was first published July 25, 2022.
My heart is filled with sorrow dear Lord as I look upon those who live deceived — those who think you are the enemy. I want them to see the freedom you offer; the life you offer; the hope you give. Help me not to get caught up in senseless arguments. Suppress my desire to win an argument. Fill me with your wisdom so that my words speak eternity and hope to those who wander in darkness. Show me how to lead them to you with gentleness, with caring, with your wise hand.
For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. – Titus 3:3-7 (NASB)
Amen! This weekly post refills my own faith journey. God’s grace and peace continues to lead.
May we continue to draw closer to God, praising him for His grace and love. Blessings.
This was a perfect prayer for me to read as I am listening to a niece who only has one side of the story of an encounter she had with some family. She was crying so hard when she called I could not understand her words and it took a while to get her side of the issue. A few days later we heard from another side of the family on what really happened. Honestly I not sure it can be figured out but after reading your prayer I am going to read it.
What a difficult situation. Thanks for sharing. I have found myself in similar situations. It can be so hard to sort out the truth. I pray God’s wisdom will guide you on how to approach this situation. May you feel the peace of Christ encourage and strengthen you. May the Spirit of God give you the right words to express God’s love and grace through you. Blessings.
It’s so important to remember that people we’re angry with – people we’re tempted to hate – are very likely deceived and need our prayers more than our arguments.
Good advice. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.
Amen. I agree with David.
Blessings.
Amen! Your prayer is powerful and heartfelt, and the scripture puts the matter in perspective. Only by the grace of God have our eyes been opened. 🙏May the same grace find those who are yet to believe.
It is hard to see people reject the things that can help them. Thanks for the comment. Blessings.
