I have turned the soil
Shovel by shovel
Tilled the land
One by one
I sowed seeds
In fertile ground
Torrential rains came
Heat bore down
I looked for growth
I nurtured the land
Weeded the plot
Protected each seed
Heartfelt prayer
Mournful tears
Water the seeds
Watching, waiting
Some sprouted
Others did not
I cherished plants
That did grow tall
Rising to new life
Prayed for others
Still in the ground
Hoping for growth
Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, Shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him. – Psalm 126:5-6 (NASB)
It’s been so important for me to realize that GOD brings the increase. When I “plant the seed” of the Word, or water, or prune, the results are not my doing, but His.
That is a good reminder. Thanks. Blessings.
Amen. Scripture is rich with references to sowing and reaping. God encourages us to be diligent in our own efforts.
Yes, we must be diligent, but sometimes I do get impatient waiting for a sprout or growth. I remind myself that God has been patient with me and I have benefitted from His love and grace. Blessings.
Amen. Lovely poem.
Thank you. Blessings.
