Hope Amidst Temporal Suffering

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. – Romans 8:18

Jesus suffered on the cross; hung there in pain. In that moment, there was great sorrow among his followers and his family. It was an unjust death in an unjust world. Yet Jesus showed us the temporal nature of our suffering in this world. He showed us there is hope for those who believe in Him; hope for those who seek Him and find the empty tomb on Easter morning; hope for those who seek the resurrected Lord Jesus; hope for those who find new life in Jesus. The “sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us (Romans 8:18).”

  1. These verses seem that much more poignant at the present time in our world don’t they? Thank you for another blessed reminder of the hope we have in Jesus.

    1. There is nothing like the hope we have in Jesus. I am reminded of Jeremiah 29:11: “‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.’” Blessings.
