Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. – John 19:30, NASB
“It is finished!” Jesus’ death gives us life. “The sin which so easily entangles us (Hebrews 12:1)” has been forgiven. “The blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7).” For “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed (1 Peter 2:24).” Jesus is “the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me (Galatians 2:10).” Through His death, his suffering, he gave us forgiveness for our sins and life eternal. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23).” if you “confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).”
Amen! The Lord lives forever.
Praise God! Blessings.
This message hits hard, as it should. Every few months I find myself slipping away from Jesus’ love and redemption, trying to brute force solutions to problems on my own. Only when I release my grip of these troubles and lay them at Jesus’ feet do I remember where true redemption lies, in knowing Jesus is Lord.
Thank you for sharing.
The struggle is real. It makes think of Galatians 5:16-17: “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please (NASB).” Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Blessings.
Amen. Thank you for the cross!
