Prayer Journey
It is hard to grasp redemption; hard to understand why God offers me salvation. Why would Jesus willfully suffer and die for me, someone prone to sin? Why would God forgive my sins through Jesus. So much of the forgiveness I offer to others is conditional. The mercy I extend is often not free and clear. Sometimes the forgiveness I give to others still clings to sinful thoughts. What you offer is unconditional forgiveness; salvation through Jesus. I cannot save myself. Help me Lord Jesus to deepen my faith in you. Fill my heart with a desire to know you, to follow you. Thank you for what you did for us on the cross and the hope you give us.

For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; – 1 Peter 3:18 (NASB)
Such an honest question to ask when offering forgiveness to someone: Am I forgiving them, with no strings attached? Any answer other than yes really means I’m not doing that doesn’t it. For in the end the hurt we hold onto instead of laying down to Jesus, keeps hurting us.
Thank you for sharing this wisdom.
So true, the hurt we cling to ends up hurting us. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Blessings.
