Healing is a hard thing for me to reconcile. Over the years I have prayed for healing for a lot of people. Some saw healing, others did not. I may have questioned God over it, but I never questioned my faith in God or His son Jesus.
It is the act of reaching out to God and baring our heart to Him that I think is the important part of praying for healing. It requires us to lay aside our human desires, to admit we’re helpless without God, and to trust that His ways are better than our ways.
To pray to God to heal someone is to recognize He has the power to do what seems impossible. It is to admit He has dominion over all things. It is to come to terms with the limits of our human ability. Prayer itself can be a request to teach us to trust God more with our life and the lives of the people around us.
