Years ago I began highlighting Bible verses that spoke to me in the midst of traumatic events. This month I am sharing some of these verses and a short reflection.
My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word. My eyes fail, looking for your promise; I say, “When will you comfort me?” – Psalm 119:81-82 (NIV)
There is no end to the trauma; no end to the worry; no end to the fatigue. The longing for relief is deep, yet none is in sight. I desire salvation from this never ending grief. My eyes are heavy; my sight obscured from the tears. My heart longs for your comfort. I cling to your word, your hope. It is all that remains. I am emptied — fill me dear Lord.
