For the first time in human history, most of the knowledge of humanity can be accessed with a pocket-sized device. A quick search on the internet can yield answers in seconds to life’s questions. We can instantly connect with people who have answers. Yet with all this information it takes wisdom to discern what is truthful and what is deceptive.
During Solomon’s reign, rulers from all over came to seek the wisdom God gave him. The Queen of Sheba is one notable example in 2 Chronicles 9. She traveled to see for herself if the reports she heard about Solomon were true. “Nevertheless I did not believe their reports until I came and my eyes had seen it. And behold, the half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told me. You surpass the report that I heard (6).”
To what extent are you willing to go to learn God’s wisdom? There was something about the wisdom God gave Solomon that attracted rulers from everywhere in the world. The same is true today. God’s wisdom stands out in a world where we can obtain instant advice from multiple sources. Seek a heart for God in His word, prayer, and those who have a heart for God.
And all the kings of the earth were seeking the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom which God had put in his heart. – 2 Chronicles 9:23
