I was reading Psalm 150 and was struck by its exuberance, its effervescent praise that rises up to the heavens. Then I wondered what that might look like in our daily life. What follows is my variation of Psalm 150 to encourage you to incorporate praises to God in your daily routine:
Praise the LORD!
Praise God not just in church, but throughout the week.
Praise Him when you gaze up at the mighty expanse of the deep blue sky.
Praise Him in the darkest night when the pinpricks of the stars give evidence to His presence.
Praise Him at the rising and setting of the sun with all its vibrant colors.
Praise Him for the mighty works he has done in your life as you rise in the morning.
Praise Him for His son Jesus and the salvation He has gifted to you.
Praise God for the love and grace He showers upon you like a warm summer rain.
Praise Him as you look in the mirror for His excellent work in creating you.
Praise Him with song as you go to work, let your voice sing of His greatness.
Honor Him with dancing in your kitchen, with outstretched arms and songs of praise.
Invite others to join you in your home to celebrate the greatness of God.
Praise Him with shouts of thanksgiving as you gather for the evening meal.
Whisper praises to God as you drift off to sleep.
“Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!” – Psalm 150:6
