Gentle Touch

I gaze upward

At the dreary sky

Silent and cloudy

In barren branches

Gentle wind moves

Whispers of hope

Flakes of snow

Suddenly emerge

Drifting downward

White dots pierce

This overcast day

Swirling and dancing

Ever so gently

Snowflakes touch

Alighting on me

A gentle caress

Soothing touch

On a tired soul

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. – Matthew 11:28-29 (NASB)

  1. I call the cold up here in Northern Mn. brutal and the snow softens it especially when there is no wind and it slowly comes down and covers the brutal. Beautiful poem.

    1. I agree that the snow softens the cold winter weather, especially those windless days when you can watch snow slowly drift downward. It reminds me of a snow globe. Thanks for the comment. Blessings.

  2. Beautiful poem, thank you for sharing it. It reminds me that there is a spiritual quality in meditating on the glory of God in the snow. May He bless you today.
