Your Band of Supporters

Throughout my life, during both good and bad times, I can recall how God placed people in my life to help me. There were traumatic events where someone lifted me up and put me back on my feet as well as times where they celebrated with me. This mighty band of God’s faithful reminds me that we are not alone in our journey to follow Jesus.

There are many examples of how God’s faithful depended on others to help them. In 1 Chronicles 11:10-12:22, David’s mighty men are listed by name along with the things they did to help David on his path to becoming king. Their devotion to God and David was expressed by Amasai, “We are yours, O David, and with you, O son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, and peace to him who helps you; indeed, your God helps you!”

Who are your band of God’s faithful, the people God has placed in your life to help you?Take some time to write down their names and the things they did to help you along the way. Pray for them, encourage them, and consider sending them a note of thanks.
