And so Simon Peter also came, following him, and entered the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there, and the face-cloth which had been on His head, not lying with the linen wrappings, but rolled up in a place by itself. – John 20:6-7, NASB
Praise God that Jesus removed the vail of death with His resurrection. He rolled up the face covering so we could see the hope of salvation through his death and resurrection.
Praise God that Jesus removed the linens of death that keep us wrapped up—laying them aside with His resurrection. He conquered the grave, sin, and death.
Praise God that Jesus offers eternal life—new life in Him to all who believe in Him. Praise God for the gift of salvation; for sending His son Jesus; for giving us the gift of eternal life through Jesus.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26
A message full of faith and hope: the resurrection reminds us that life triumphs over death and that in Jesus there is always salvation and a new beginning.

Amen. May our own journeys of prayer emulate these two sets of verses from the Gospel of John. Each reminds us of the eternity of Christ’s light in our faith.
