Sometimes I think about the apostles of Jesus and what might have happened if they had listened to the scribes and pharisees and not preached about Jesus. Because of their steadfast Spirit, their determination to spread the Good News about Jesus, today we have the New Testament, God’s Word of salvation through Jesus.
It because of the faithful over centuries, continuing to spread the Word, that we have the Gospel of Jesus today. It is your faithfulness today that ensures the word of Jesus continues to spread as it has for more than two thousand years.
They took his advice; and after calling the apostles in, they flogged them and ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and then released them. So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name. And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ. – Acts 5:40-42

These verses from Acts offer testament to the relentless faith and conviction of Christ’s apostles. How can we do nothing less in our own sharing of the Gospel.
