God’s Word is Truth

Sometimes it is hard to trust God, to believe His Word is true. When we feel the weight of the world on our shoulders, it is difficult to believe the words of Jesus: “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light (Matthew 11:29, NASB).” Yet God is faithful. “Know therefore that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments (Deuteronomy 7:9).”

Throughout the Bible we see examples of God’s prophetic word in early books come true in later books. We see God promise Abram who was childless: “Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be (Genesis 15:5, NASB).” Later Moses commented about the Israelites: “The LORD your God has multiplied you, and behold, you are this day like the stars of heaven in number (Deuteronomy 1:10.”).”

Jesus came to save us from our sin, to give us eternal life. You can trust his words: “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die (John 11:25-26).” There is a lot of uncertainty in this world, but God’s Word is true. “For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:9).”
