There is a place we call home. A place with our name on an address. It is our little square of the planet. Some have larger squares than others, but ultimately it is just dirt beneath our feet. The Pslamist reminds us in Psalm 49:11-12:
“Their inner thought is that their houses are forever And their dwelling places to all generations; They have called their lands after their own names. But man in his pomp will not endure; He is like the beasts that perish.”
No matter what our address, we will all suffer the same fate. Verse 10 reminds us that all will perish “and leave their wealth to others.” It reminds us that for those who believe in Jesus and follow His way, their true home is eternal life with God. That is the ultimate forever home.
