What’s on the Doorpost of Your Life?

Between the crucifixion and the resurrection there is that moment of wondering. Jesus laid in the tomb. His disciples felt the sorrow, the pain, the loss of Jesus. They saw him brutally killed on the cross. His blood brutally spilled on the timbers.

Yet the blood of the lamb was victorious. His blood over the doorpost of our life means death will pass over us. The resurrection of Jesus brought victory over death. When we believe in Jesus, eternal life is ours. Death no longer has a hold on us. In the darkness of this day before Easter, hope is found in the rising of Easter morning

The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. – Exodus 12:13 (NASB)

And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death. – Revelation 12:11

  1. Amen, CG. “Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins.” It’s easy to merely mention Christ’s crucifixion and focus more on his resurrection. However, they are both part of the same redemption story. Have a blessed Easter, brother. He is risen!
