Long shadows across the road
Daylight waning, giving way
Daytime passes into evening
Green trees turning crimson
Yellowed leaves falling down
Brown leaves passing away
Cool air chills the soul
Winter presses into fall
Cold, still and silent
Brittle leaves blow on by
Breath now visible
In the naked sky
Light snow falls
Life slips away
Buried in the cold

There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. – Revelation 22:5 (NASB)
Beautifully crafted poem! I always enjoy reading others’ interpretations of the seasons. May this autumn season continue to share God’s peace.
Thank you. Blessings.
This perfectly captures the day, and the longings we have for the unknown in passing.
Blessings.
