You dear Lord are the source of joy, pure joy. Nothing on this earth can match the joy you bring to my soul. Though trials may persist, they do not extinguish the joy you bring. Though my heart may be saddened, you lift me up. Though I struggle, you give me hope. May your wisdom guide me this day. Keep me on the path of life everlasting, the way to your joy dear Lord.

Thank you for the reminder, as I was thinking about this very thing today. I look forward to the joy of being married, having children, and making a house into a home. But before, during, and after this, I know I can lean into God’s embrace of pure joy in whatever life situation I am in.

Yes. Resting in God’s embrace is where we find true joy. I think of Paul in Phillipians 4:11: “Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.” Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Blessings.
