Shout Joyfully

I recently searched for the phrase “shout joyfully” in the NASB Bible and I was struck by all the different ways we should “shout joyfully” to the Lord:

Shout joyfully to God, all the earth; – Psalm 66:1

Shout joyfully to the God of Jacob. – Psalm 88:1

Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. – Psalm 95:1

Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. – Psalm 95:2

Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth; – Psalm 98:4

With trumpets and the sound of the horn Shout joyfully before the King, the LORD. – Psalm 98:6

Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth. – Psalm 100:1

And will shout joyfully of Your righteousness. – Psalm 145:7

Shout joyfully, you lower parts of the earth; – Isaiah 44:23

They shout joyfully together; – Isaiah 52:8

Break forth, shout joyfully together, – Isaiah 52:9

Behold, My servants will shout joyfully with a glad heart, – Isaiah 65:14

Take some time today to shout joyfully to God.

  1. Oh believe me, I do. When we’re singing in church and we get to a line about Jesus rising from the dead, I’m the crazy lady in the balcony, yelling “WOOHOO!!!” (Similar whooping when someone gets baptized.)
Hey, if people can raise a ruckus over some guy dunking a ball in a basket, the people of God should be able to make some noise over our Lord’s victory over death!
    Just sayin’ …

    1. I once heard a sermon using that example about cheering during sporting events yet not in church. Don’t stop doing your “Whooohoos!” Praise God for the victory he has given us over death! Blessings.

  2. I like verse 2 of Psalm 66 as well:

“Sing the glory of His name; make His praise glorious!”

This says to me that not all praise to God should be the same old thing.

Like King David said, we should bring no offering to God that costs us nothing.

    Make His praise GLORIOUS!

Thank you, CG. I didn’t know there were this many “Shout to God’s “ in the Bible!

    God’s best to you.

    1. “We should bring no offering to God that costs us nothing.” Like that line. Glory to God! All praise to Him. Thanks for the comment. Blessings.
