Prayer Journey — God’s Love

This morning Lord, in this season, I contemplate your love. It is hard to grasp why you sacrificed your son for me, a sinner from birth. Yet you sent Jesus here to save us when we could not save ourselves. “Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death (Romans 7:24, NASB).”

I pray this Christmas your love will be evident to us, that we will know your love is there dear God even when the love of this world grows cold. May we see ourselves as your image bearers, uniquely crafted by your loving hands. Help us to receive your gift of love, the gift of Jesus. Help us to express your love to those around us. Thank you for loving us, for your faithfulness.

By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. – 1 John 4:9
