It takes time to acquire a skill or to become truly knowledgeable about a topic. It’s easy to know or look up things on the internet, but you can’t master something in minutes. Learning takes time.
This is what jumped out at me in Matthew 11:28-30. Jesus calls us to come to Him and take time to learn about life. He wants us to set down our phones and our burdens and find rest with Him (28). He is a gentle and humble teacher who you can learn from about true life. In His ways you will find rest, not simply having it your way (29).
To sit with Jesus, to walk with Him, is to believe in Him with your heart, soul, mind and strength. It requires stopping and taking time to seek Him. It is being equally yoked to Him, together pulling through life, sharing your burdens and letting Jesus into your life.
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30, NASB
