The plagues that God inflicted on Egypt in Exodus were not just to drive Pharaoh to release the Israelites. They also were a demonstration of God’s authority over the gods of that time, to both the Egyptians and the Israelites. God told Moses, “that you may tell in the hearing of your son, and of your grandson, how I made a mockery of the Egyptians and how I performed My signs among them, that you may know that I am the LORD (Exodus 10:2, NASB).”
Throughout the millennia, God has made himself known to countless people. He has demonstrated his authority across the centuries. Kingdoms and nations have come and gone, but God has remained on His throne. He continues to impact your life today if you choose to see it. Take note of what He has done and share it across the generations.
Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had said. – Exodus 8:19, NASB
