He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. – Psalm 1:3, NASB
A tree does not rush about from forest to forest, hurrying through its life. It is firmly planted in the ground, being still and ready to receive. Only by running its roots deep into the soil can it gain nutrition and water for life. Each season is received. All it gives is its fruit.
Plant yourself in the stillness of God, in His forest, by streams of living water. Be still and receive from Him. Let the seasons of life come and go knowing you have deep roots into His living water. Wait patiently for God to act in your life and you will produce fruit in due season.
Even though droughts may come, rest by God’s stream. You will not wither in the face of adversity. Let your roots run deep into the soil of God’s work and prosper in His way.
