God wants us to have good things. Right? But how we interpret what is good can impact our view of God. If we ask God for only what we want, what we think is good, then we set ourselves up for frustration when we don’t get it. We can become angry at God for not delivering on our request.
If you really believe that God only wants to give you good things, then can you accept that He does not always fulfill our requests? Do you trust in God to provide what’s best for you even though He may not relieve you of your current trial? Can you pray, “Lord show me what you want to give me.”
When we make prayerful requests before God, it’s important to approach Him with a humble heart and an openness to His will.
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! – Matthew 7:11, NASB
AMEN. God decides what is good for us, and in the end, we will see that all He has for us has been good, even (especially) the things we didn’t think we wanted. This is one of the major points made in my book BARRIERS (So, if prayers are so powerful, how come mine don’t get answered?)
Yes, we need to trust God—that His desire for our life is what is best for us. Thanks for the comment. Blessings.
Amen. Chris, I appreciate your use of actions that allow us to approach God with a humble heart while open to His will.
Praise God for His love and grace. Blessings.
Oh, such a good perspective!
I’m grateful for God’s love and grace as He patiently mentors us.
Thanks for this
Blessings to you.
