Christmas Priorities: An Immediate response to Good News

There they were in the middle of their long night shift when something amazing happened. Angels appeared with good news about a savior being born in Bethlehem. Yet they did not shrug it off and try to explain it away as some sort of celestial occurrence with a scientific explanation. They accepted God’s word as true and immediately responded to this good news. In fact they hurried to Bethlehem.

When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, “Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger. – Luke 2:15-16, NASB

Miraculous things happen every day that point to God. He has given us good news that has been announced to the world. Yet many shrug it off and continue on with their lives ignoring the invitation to seek Jesus, the new born King. They continue to work their night shift in the dark, oblivious to what God wants to give them.

Will you respond today with immediacy to the good news God reveals to you?
