Books Receive Recognition

This week I learned that my books, Islands of Deception and Race for Redemption, were selected as Christian Indie Award Finalists in the Mystery/Suspense category by the Christian Indie Publishers Association. The winners will be announced in March at the Blue Lake Christian Writers Conference near Destin Florida.

I am grateful for all the support and encouragement I have received over the years from family, friends and readers like you. When I published my first post on this blog 15 years ago, it was scary to put my work out there for others to read. What I discovered was a community of writers who encouraged one another not only in writing, but faith in God. There were times I wanted to give up, but readers like you encouraged me to keep on writing.

That first post so many years ago led me to eventually write books and short stories. When I self-published my first book Islands of Deception in 2023, it was a huge learning curve, but worth it to finally see the book in print. After its release, it was strange to be called an author. I was also surprised by how many readers were attached to the characters in my first book and wanted to know what happened next. Once again, readers encouraged me and that led me to publish Race for Redemption in May.

For all you writers out there, I want to encourage you to keep on writing and to follow God’s lead. Let the Spirit of God guide your writing and trust his timing.

Thanks for reading. Blessings to you.

  1. Blessings Chris. I appreciate your sharing of your books’ recognition. After witnessing my wife’s own publishing journey with her book, I have a better understanding of the challenges.
