Writers Blessing Writers

Last week I attended the Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writers Conference in North Carolina. If you are interested in the craft of writing and seeking God’s direction for how to use your writing gifts, I recommend attending this conference. I have been a writer most of my life and I have never experienced such an uplifting and encouraging week. The speakers, faculty and professionals who were there all expressed a heart for helping writers at all points on their writing journey from beginner to seasoned professional.

Each day began and ended with worship and a keynote speaker to motivate and uplift the writers in attendance. Perhaps the best part was the opportunity to meet so many other writers at meals, workshops and casual conversation. There is nothing like sitting with other writers and sharing what we’ve learned on our writing journey and what God is doing in our lives. It was writers blessing writers.

I was also humbled to receive a second place award at the conference for my short story “A Second Shot.” I was truly blessed during the week and so grateful for all the people who took time to pour into my writing life.

  1. Congratulations, Brother,

I received your email with the story. I am looking forward to reading it when I can hide away from my reading interruptors.

    All the best,

    Harriet

    1. Thanks. It’s such an amazing conference. They are definitely focused on helping you use your writing gift to serve God. There is also a wide range of workshops full of very useful information.

  3. It’s encouraging to know there are conferences for Christian writers. It makes sense, but I’d never known about any. Congratulations on your second place win, and the publication of your second novel.
    Blessings!
