#7 2024 Top Ten Editors Note: Now through January 5 I am posting the Top Ten posts of 2024.
In a world without sin, there are no locks on doors; no wars; no abuse; no divisive words; nothing of our inherent sinful nature. It is the new heaven and new earth that will one day replace this broken world. “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea (Revelation 21:1, NASB).” There will be no more night. “And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb (21:23).”
All the pain and sorrow you know too well in this world will pass away: “and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away (21:4).” Just as Adam and Eve once walked with God, believers in Jesus will one day do the same: “and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them (21:3).”
