The human spirit can endure in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear? Proverbs 18:14 (NIV)
How does a spirit get broken? Too often by the words and deeds of others. What we do to others can either build up their spirit or crush it.
When the spirit of another is broken, it can cripple their ability to walk through hard times. A broken spirit can weaken one’s ability to endure the emotional and physical pain of trauma—to even reach out for help. It can also hinder a person’s faith in God.
How we interact with one another is vital to maintaining a healthy community of believers. We should question if our words and deeds are building up or tearing down people. Together we should seek ways to deepen our faith in Jesus and follow his example of caring for others. We should remain vigilant in stopping things that may be tearing others down or fracturing our churches.
Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. – 2 Corinthians 13:11
Amen. Apostle Paul’s exhortation from this verse in 2 Corinthians is a worthy starting point for each day.g
A good way to start the day. Thanks for the comment. Blessings.
