You’ve left the life you’ve known for years to follow God. As you embark on your journey of faith, your adversary pursues you, determined as ever to stop you. It appears they will over power you with a force more powerful than you think you can muster.
The fear that stirred in the Israelites as they left Egypt is the same type of fear we face when the evil one tries to thwart our faith. We leave our familiar life, pursued by doubts, fears, and second thoughts, but God tells us, “Do not fear.” The same God who told the Israelites, “The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent (Exodus 14:14, NASB),” is the same God who fights for us today.
In your journey of faith in Jesus, you will meet resistance and opposition. Draw closer to Him and seek His strength, not your own strength. That day the Israelites saw the power of God make a way for them just when it seemed they would be defeated by Pharaoh’s army. God told the Israelites through Moses, “Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever (14:13).”
He caused their chariot wheels to swerve, and He made them drive with difficulty; so the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from Israel, for the LORD is fighting for them against the Egyptians.” – Exodus 15:25
Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. – Ephesians 6:11-13, NASB
I love this! It seems “the schemes of the devil” usually include convincing us to fight the wrong enemy (people) and in our own strength.
May God give us wisdom and discernment to uncover the devil’s schemes. Thanks for the comment. Blessings.
