Losing Faith

“…And the stone sank into his forehead, so that he fell on his face to the ground. – 1 Samuel 17:49 (NASB)

They were totally invested in the strength of Goliath. They relied on him to not only protect them, but to bring them success. They rallied behind him because he appeared powerful and unstoppable. Then he fell on his face—defeated.

What happens next when what we depend on in this world falls flat on its face? When leaders we rally behind—who appear powerful and inspiring—fall and fail us. When the value of our investments in the world crash and fall. When weaknesses are exposed in what we thought was strength.

These are moments when we learn the cost of putting our faith in things of this world. These are teachable moments that God uses to reveal his steadfastness, His sovereignty. These are moments he wants to point us toward eternal things and your salvation.
