#4 Prayer Journey — Distracted

2022 Countdown of the top four Prayer Journey posts. This post was first published January 31, 2022.

The world encroaches on the boundaries that surround me. I feel vulnerable as I take my eyes off you dear Lord and watch the concerns of this world advance closer to me. Worry about today and tomorrow begins to seep into my life. I strain to brace the walls I’ve built, working to keep worry away. I soon recognize my limitations. I am but flesh and bone, but you dear Lord are divine and eternal. Fill me with your peace, your wisdom. Let me not be distracted by this world and its deception. Help me to take refuge in you dear God. Help me to find rest in you dear Lord. Help me to keep my eyes focused on you and your ways — your eternal hope.

For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. 2 Chronicles 16:9 (NASB)

The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart exults, And with my song I shall thank Him. – Psalm 28:7

But the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. – Mark 4:19
