Prayer Journey — Joy of the Lord

May your Spirit dear God fill me with your joy. Let me not be focused on the temporal joys of this earth, but on your eternal joy. Help me to discern what is life-giving and what is destructive. Help me to see through the facade of the evil one’s deceit that seeks to draw me away from you—seeks to drag me down to the pit of despair. Give me eyes to see your truth, your righteousness. I praise you for the joy you give, your eternal hope. May you be a shield around me. Thank you for your grace and love.

For You, O LORD, have made me glad by what You have done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands. – Psalm 92:4 (NASB)

At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. – Luke 10:21 (NIV)
