Torrents of rain saturate my body. A furious, cold wind chills me to the bone. Storm clouds above mask the light. A world of bitterness and brokenness encroaches on me. Yet you surround me like a fortress dear God. You are faithful and true. In you I trust dear Lord. Under your wing I find protection, refuge, and warmth. Your grace and love surround me. I feel your presence, your comfort. You are steady in an unsteady world, unshakable in a shaken world. In you dear Jesus there is life, eternal life. Expand my knowledge of you dear God, my desire to know you in a deeper way. I praise you God this day.
Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. – 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 (NIV)
