There are times in life when I feel overwhelmed by the evil in the world. It seems that I will be overtaken by those who pursue me with false accusations and malicious words. At these times, David’s words in the Psalms resonate with me. Psalm 35:1-3 is one example:
“Plead my cause, O LORD, with those who strive with me; Fight against those who fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, And stand up for my help. Also draw out the spear, And stop those who pursue me. Say to my soul, “I am your salvation (NKJV).”
When we pursue God’s truth, His way, we will run into opposition, even from those who may be friends or family. No matter how strong the attacks seem, know that God is right by your side, fighting against those who fight against you. He pleads your cause with those who strive with you, even when you feel unheard and treated unjustly.
God is your shield. He is by your side defending you. He stands up for you, stopping those who pursue you with hate. The same God who stood with David, stands with you against those who seek to thwart His work in you. Hear God’s words: “I am your salvation.”

Amen! Our God never leaves us dangling in the wind for too long. When He restores us from the evil snapping at our feet, He fulfills His glory.
Praise God for His grace. His mercies are new each morning. Blessings.
Thanks for sharing this. These are important truths that we all need to hear. We all need this encouragement at some point in our lives. Holding onto these truths can make the difference between sinking and swimming in difficult times.
