Prayer Journey — Life

From the beginning of time to this moment, you’ve been there. You created this world and everything in it. I do not understand why you placed me here at this moment — gave me breath and life.

I watch as others come and go from this life. I see the new born and the aged; new life and fading life. One generation disappears while another takes its place. In the midst of this constant change, you are there dear God. Your steady hand is upon our life, guiding and directing us.

Any sense we have of control is an illusion. You seek to guide us to what’s best for us if only we listen to you. It is our disobedience that takes the good from us like a thief in the night. Help me dear God to follow your will, your way; to seek you and your wisdom. Let me not be distracted from you. Thank you for making yourself known, for seeking us.

Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men! For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good. – Psalm 107:8-9 (NASB)
