Prayer Journey — Weeping

Jesus wept. He felt grief, loss. He felt sorrow as others grieved. This morning I think of a young couple suffering the pain of losing a baby. I pray for them and so many others who at this moment are grieving the loss of a loved one. The pain is deep, sometimes unconsolable. I pray this morning that they will feel your comfort, your arms of empathy embracing them. In the painful weeks ahead, as they feel the emptiness inside, may they know that you dear Jesus are there with them; there weeping by their side; there loving them and comforting them.

When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and was troubled, and said, “Where have you laid him?” They *said to Him, “Lord, come and see.” Jesus wept. – John 11:33-35 (NASB)

  1. It’s comforting to know that when we weep, He’ weeping with us. It’s always amazed me that He wept with Mary and Martha even when He was about to raise Lazarus. He didn’t tell them not to cry – He understands. ❤️
