Prayer Journey — Moving the Immovable

It seemed impossible years ago as I stared at the seemingly immovable mountain. Tall and intimidating, it towered above me; cold and frozen in place — a hostile place for anyone who dared to ascend it’s icy slopes. To even think of trying to move it seemed impossible. Yet you told me I only needed to have faith — a faith the size of a mustard seed. You told me to turn to you in prayer, to ask and I would receive. In fervent prayer I asked. Months passed, then years and the mountain remained. Yet the prayers continued. When things seemed hopeless, I engaged more prayer warriors. Together we maintained hope for this day — this day where we have witnessed the mountain moved by your hand. Forgive me for the times I doubted you dear Lord. This day I give praise to you for your mighty hand that has worked a miracle.

And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.” – Matthew 17:20 (NASB)

And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” – Matthew 21:22

Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. – John 16:24

  1. Very real and very encouraging. I think that nearly every person of faith has some mountain like this…and we wait (sometimes patiently, sometimes not) for God to move it.
