Prayer Journey — He Knows My Name

I feel like one of many, lost in a sea of nameless people. What purpose do I have? What makes me different from anyone else. Yet I hear my name. I hear him calling to me in the wilderness. I am lost in a fog of confusion seeking my way, yet I hear him call my name. He knows me. He knows who I am. He has known me my whole life. He made me for a specific purpose, for this time and this moment. He gave me my first breath and he continues to give me breath. This life he has given to me. He calls me by my name. He calls me his child, an heir to his kingdom. I know him as my father, God. I call to him from the wilderness, “Dad!” He is there by my side with wise counsel, with purpose, with encouragement. He calls me by my name as he has from the beginning.

The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. – Romans 8:16-17 (NASB)

Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? – James 2:5 (NASB)

  1. I love the fact that God knows my name. In Isaiah 49:16 says, See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

  2. “What is my purpose?” A question that everyone has asked themselves at one time or another. The world tells us that our goal is to acquire fame and fortune, the things Jesus said will rust, decay, and be stolen from us. Yet your post reveals a righteous path. A path that our heavenly Father calls us to walk with Him at our side, one where we learn that our purpose is in Christ Jesus. Thank you for sharing this wonderful, uplifting post!
