Years ago I began highlighting Bible verses that spoke to me in the midst of traumatic events. This month I am sharing some of these verses and a short reflection.
“Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked (Psalm 97:10, NIV).”
I tensed up as the man approached me. I could feel the evil within him, evil intent. Fear filled me, but I could also feel the Spirit of God telling me to stand firm. I stepped toward him, scared for my life, wanting to protect those behind me. I expected him to brandish a weapon, but he extended his open hand toward me. “I can tell you’re a good man,” he said to me. I reluctantly shook his hand without saying a word. Then he turned and walked away.

Powerful testament! When we sometimes least expect it, God shows us the goodness of this world.
So true. God’s steadfast love never fails. Blessings.
