Prayer Journey — Releasing the Burdens

This morning I feel the burden of life, its emotional toll weighing me down. I am crouched over on this path of life, trudging along with a heavy pack. While others have come along to help me lighten the load, my burden remains heavy. You walk with me, tell me how I can release this weight into your hands, yet I insist on carrying it myself. Over the years I have accumulated so much trauma, each bag of sorrow carefully secured on my pack. You try to loosen the restraints that secure the load, but I tighten them, clinging tightly to this burden. Help me dear Lord to take your yoke and learn from you. Help me to trust you, to follow your lead. Help me to humble myself before you. Help me to find rest in you.

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30 (NASB)
