All praise to you dear God for your loving hand, for your gracious love. I praise you this morning that you lift up my broken body, my crushed spirit, my shattered emotions. Thank you that you do not just sweep up the pieces of broken clay and throw them away, that you still see value in this vessel.

I praise you this morning that with meticulous care you pick up each piece and carefully put me back together. You treat each piece as valuable, each shard as precious. You carefully and slowly rebuild me piece by piece.* Your love and grace flows deeply into each porous piece of clay, the glue that holds me together. Praise God that you care enough to put me back together, even when I feel helplessly broken.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:6
