Reminders of Reminders

Our days are filled with reminders. Texts reminding us of appointments. To do lists reminding us of tasks that need to be completed. Mail that reminds us of bills to pay. But what do we put in place to remind us to follow God each day?

In Numbers 15:37-41, God instructs the Israelites to place tassels on the corners of their garments. They are to add to each of the tassels a cord of blue “to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD, so as to do them and not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you played the harlot, (39, NASB).”

Each day we are faced with many decisions that can tempt us to stray from God’s Word. Jesus reminded His disciples, “Keep watching and praying that you may not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak (Mark 14:38).” It is one thing to know God’s Word, but another thing to live it out each day.

What reminders do you put in place to help you live for Christ each day? Share them in a comment below.
