A change in plans. Something unexpected turns all your plans upside down, but you’ll manage it. You know what you have to do. After a good night’s sleep, you’ll quietly get it done so as not to make a big deal about it and embarrass her. It’s the right thing to do. But God has different plans.
In the middle of the night a dream tells you something different—a vision. Not exactly what you planned, but God has a way of upending our plans. It’s an invitation to join Him in His work. Often, He invites us to join Him without much explanation. You have a choice whether to follow His lead or to stick with your plan.
And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned to send her away secretly. But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” – Matthew 1:19-21, NASB
Joseph learned that Mary was pregnant by the Spirit of God. Could it be true? He had already decided to quietly send her on her way so as not to embarrass her. It was his right to do it and it seemed like the right thing to do. Then an angel of the Lord told him to take her as His wife. Joseph listened to God and laid aside his plan in order to follow God’s plan.
Where is God leading you today and how will you respond when he upends your plans?

Interesting perspective. We don’t often read or hear a story in the second person, and even less do we hear one thst makes us put ourselves in the shoes of someone in the Bible. Well done!
Sometimes we forget that the people in the Bible wrestled with living out their faith in God just as we do. Thanks for the comment. Blessings.
