When God is Plan B

Contingency plans are a part of life. It’s when we have a backup plan in case our initial plan doesn’t work out. How many times do we make Jesus the contingency plan when things in our life don’t go according to our expectations?

Instead of starting out trusting God in whatever happens and abiding in him, we only turn to Him in prayer when things turnout bad. We pray for the trial to pass or the sickness to be cured, but what if nothing changes and all our plans for life are dramatically altered. We turn to God only when things look bad.

What would happen if we made God our plan A and our plans secondary? This would mean prayerfully approaching God before we lay out our plans to seek His wisdom and truth. It would mean laying our trust in Him and accepting whatever happens as His will.

So the sons of Israel did all the work according to all that the LORD had commanded Moses. – Exodus 39:42, NASB
