Regaining Your Sight in the Darkness

He was in darkness, unable to see what was in front of him. He had heard about this man, and now he was passing by him. What did he have to lose?

“Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me (Mark 10:47, NASB)!” He cried out. Even though many of the people told him to be quiet, he continued to appeal to Jesus (48). These were the cries of a man desperate to regain his sight.

Have you been in a situation where trials have immersed you in darkness and it has impaired your vision? You are blind to hope. In desperation you cry out to Jesus, “Have mercy on me.” Others tell you to keep quiet, but you continue your pleas for help, for hope.

And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him here (49).”

Throw off your cloak and run to Jesus. Tell him you want to regain your Spiritual sight. You want to see him clearly again, even in this trial. Let Jesus restore you and follow His lead.

And Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road. – Mark 10:52, NASB

  1. I love this story. Too often I’m afraid I am more like the people who found the blind man’s cries annoying and wanted him quiet, as if his problem would just go away, which of course, it wouldn’t without Jesus.

  2. This post really spoke to me. Lots of people think that I am desperate for physical healing, but their are many other things I am waiting on the Lord for. This reminds me not to give up hope.
