Why Did You Pick Me?

But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?” – Exodus 3:11, NASB

Exactly who are you when God calls you to do something that you seem ill-equipped to handle? As a believer in Jesus, you can be confident, “For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline (2 Timothy 1:7).” God has been equipping you since you were a child, “For You are my hope; O Lord GOD, You are my confidence from my youth (Psalm 71:5).”

Do not rely on your self assessment, but on God, “For the LORD will be your confidence And will keep your foot from being caught (Proverbs 3:26).” God has made you for a purpose. “For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).”

God has uniquely equipped you for this moment to serve Him and the people he has placed in your life. “But now, O LORD, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand (Isaiah 64:8).” You have all you need at this moment to serve Him, to do His will.

Jesus *said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work. – John 4:34, NASB

God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” Exodus 3:14-15
