The Thief of Wholeness

When evening came, after the sun had set, they began bringing to Him all who were ill and those who were demon-possessed. And the whole city had gathered at the door. – Mark 1:32-33, NASB

It isn’t hard to see that we live in a broken world. People suffering from emotional and physical pains, illnesses, and hurt inflicted on each other. The longing for healing is evident. It’s age old.

In Jesus’ day, word rapidly spread that He was healing people from physical ailments and demon possession. In the verse above, the whole city shows up. They came to be made whole, but were they just after physical healing? Jesus offered them so much more.

It is one thing to long to be made emotionally and physically whole, but another thing to be made Spiritually whole through Jesus. So much in this world attempts to steal your Spiritual, physical, and emotional health. Jesus offers true life, life eternal.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. – John 10:10, NASB
