Waiting on God

When I see something happening to loved ones, or see them making poor choices, I want immediate change. I pray fervently to God to change the situation. At times I don’t understand why God does not act immediately to change things for the better.

Then, as I read His Word, I am reminded to wait on God. If you are growing impatient with God, take a moment to read the following scriptures and take time to meditate on each passage. Draw strength from God’s word. Understand that He has the complete picture and knows all things including the desires of your heart.

Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD. – Psalm 27:14, NASB

Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. – Isaiah 40:31

Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; – Psalm 37:7

You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near. – James 5:8

Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the LORD tested him. – Psalm 105:19

Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth;
Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert. – Isaiah 43:18-19

The LORD favors those who fear Him, Those who wait for His lovingkindness. – Psalm 147:11

The LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; – Job 42:12
